Hazard Communication General Awareness Training (2 hours)
Hazard Communication Training under 29CFR 1910.1200 is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for all employees who have the potential to be exposed to, or work with, hazardous materials in the workplace. The EAST Company will provide client-specific training, compliant with Federal and State Hazard Communication Regulations.

HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Technician Level Training (40 hours)
This training meets the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) under 29CFR 1910.120 for employees designated to respond to hazardous material emergencies. The EAST Company's 40-hour Emergency Response training at the technician level is available for clients whose potential risks from on-site hazardous materials releases/incidents require additional emergency response training. This training is made to order to meet your specific needs. First responders at the technician level are individuals who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances with the intention of stopping the release. They assume a more aggressive role than a first responder at the operations level does. The EAST Company 40-hour Technician level trained personnel approach the point of release to plug, patch, or otherwise stop the release of hazardous materials. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of a written exam.

HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Annual Refresher Training (8 hours)
Under 29 CFR 1910.120, Any employee who is trained in accordance with the HAZWOPER standard is required to receive annual refresher training of sufficient content and duration to maintain their competencies. The EAST Company provides this 8-hour annual refresher course to satisfy this requirement. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of training.

24-hour HAZWOPER Operations Level Training
This course meets the requirements set by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) under 29CFR 1910.120 for employees designated to respond to hazardous material emergencies. First Responders at the Operations level are individuals who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances in a defensive fashion. Their response is for the protecting nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of the release. This function is to contain the release from a safe distance, keep it from spreading, and prevent exposures. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of a written exam.

HAZWOPER First Responder Awareness Level training (8 hours)
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) First Responder Awareness Level Training is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) under 29CFR 1910.120 for employees designated to respond to hazardous material emergencies.


First Responders at the Awareness level are individuals who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and who have been trained to initiate/inform the proper authorities of the release. These employees are required to have sufficient training to objectively demonstrate competency in identification of hazardous material releases, determination of emergency response requirements, and notification mechanisms. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of a written exam.

Hazardous Materials Ground Transportation Training (8 hours)
This course meets the Department of Transportation's requirements for any employee who is responsible for the safe transportation of hazardous materials under 49CFR 172.700. This includes any employee who loads or unloads vehicles, prepares shipping papers, packages for transport, or transports hazardous materials by ground. The Department of Transportation requires that the training program incorporate three aspects of hazardous material transportation safety: general awareness, specific employee functions, and employee/driver safety. Certification of each participant is contingent upon successful completion of a written exam.
